Carols at Warwick Castle

Join us at this great annual event, which for many people marks the start of their Christmas festivities.

It is a great opportunity for families and people of all ages to get together in the iconic location of the Castle’s courtyard and to join in signing carols with the excellent choir of St Mary’s and to enjoy the Christmas tunes from the splendid Royal Spa Brass.

All this and it raises money for charity. Warwick Castle provide the use of the venue and many support services free of charge.

The Choirs of St Mary’s Collegiate Church Warwick

St Mary’s has a long tradition of choral excellence. Choristers attend local schools, or live and work in the local area. The choirs sing at services through the week, with boys and men on Sundays, the girls at Evensong on Wednesdays and the men every Friday.

The Director of Music, Oliver Hancock, would be delighted to hear from children and their parents who would like to find out more about the junior choirs.

Royal Spa Brass

Royal Spa Brass is a community music organisation based in Royal Leamington Spa, with members from the wider area.

As well as accompanying many of the carols sung by the choir they will play a number of more up to date Christmas tunes both before and after the carols.

Entrances

The main entry for Carols at the Castle will be via the gate at Mill Street roundabout, (Banbury Road) or the main Castle entrance area (Stables Courtyard) For wheelchair users, we suggest entering via the main castle entrance area.

The Castle will be busy in the evening, as there will also be visitors to the Castle attending the light trail and the ice-rink.

Parking

Parking for carol concert ticket holders is NOT available on site at the castle. We have an arrangement with Warwick School, to pre-book parking with them, if you find securing your parking space a reassurance. They are a ten minute walk away. Alternatively, you could look to park in other town centre car parks, subject to availability. Warwick car parks – Warwick District Council (warwickdc.gov.uk)

Blue badge parking will be extremely limited, as we are open for evening guests attending the ice rink and light trail. Should you have a member of your party with accessibility or mobility requirements, we suggest that they are dropped off at the castle, before you park offsite.
